As nervous as a new mom

January 17, 2009

So I am heading out to visit relatives this weekend.  I am going with my folks.  My daughter is going too.  So why am I nervous?  Because this means that I am leaving my grandfather in the hands of my crazy aunt and looney uncle.  Yes, the aunt from England is visiting and the uncle who is becoming a priest is here to see her.  To make things even more fun they are going out tonight and leaving my grandfather with a “sitter” cause they have plans.  I already know that my uncle believes that my grandfather just needs to be up in his wheelchair more and that will keep him awake and engaged better-it will not.  All it will do is make or aggravate sores that he already has.  My grandfather is 91 and tired.  And my uncle seems to think that the old man is going to live to be 150.  Don’t get me wrong, I do not want my grandfather to be going downhill, but I also believe in being realistic.  And allowing my grandfather to call the shots.  My grandfather has told me that he was getting annoyed at my uncle not understanding and letting him have a say, even if the answer was I don’t want to do this.  I mean seriously how much should a man in his 90’s have to go through?

Anyway, I am going to try and have a good time this weekend and not worry too much.  There isn’t anything I can do until I get back

But where should they go?

OK, maybe I am just a bit slow, but I really don’t understand how Israel can truly think that it is justified in what it is/has been doing with Gaza.  And how they think the rest of the world is just going to fall in line and just agree with them.  I heard an interview with someone today that seemed to be a spokesperson for Israeli actions who said that they have dropped some leaflets and they try and call the buildings before they bomb them to get the civilians to leave.  Ya know cause there is no way that a Hamas guy would be answering the phone or picking up one of those leaflets.  But anyway, my big question is even if the people leave their apartment building so that it can be BLOWN UP!!!!!  Where do they go from there?  It isn’t like they get to leave Gaza and start a new life somewhere else.  They are still trapped in that hell with no food, water or power.  And now no home because it was BLOWN UP!!!!!

And no I am not saying that everyone in Gaza is a saint, but I am saying that if you treat people like caged animals for long enough they will turn on you

So Dubya kept the country safe, huh?

January 2, 2009

So Chimpy McFlight Suit just keeps saying that he has kept our country safe from attack even though we all know that the only attack on an actual US state has been on his watch.  And the only attack in the last 60 years on US soil(unless you count embassies-but that is grasping at straws there) has been on his watch.  But yeah he kept us safe.  Anyway, didn’t all he do was ramp up the already fairly fevered pitch against Muslims in this country?  I remember very clearly that when Oklahoma City happened that it was put out that they were looking for 2 muslim/arab(middle eastern) men even though the composite drawings looked NOTHING like that description.  I lived in Manhattan KS at the time and the mosque there was defiled.  And who was it that blew up that building?  That’s right, 2 of the whitest white guys ever.  One of them was a good old Kansas boy.  The other had been a soldier at Fort Riley which is how he met the Kansan.

So why am I rehashing all of this you ask.  This poor family that was harassed for doing nothing more than teaching their children.  If my husband and I took our two kids on that same flight and had had that exact same conversation I would bet that we would not have gotten a second look.  Yes I am white.  There you have a clue about the ferret. 🙂

But then to add insult to injury the airline had to be super retarded.  What is it about local airline staff?  It always takes corporate to come out laterto say “Well they never should have done that.”  I would guess it has to do with them getting caught.  But seriously if the FBI told you that some should get on a flight wouldn’t you say “OK?”  Just saying.

Seriously isn’t this the 21st Century?

Ah the fun of words

So have you ever noticed that as long as you think you are kidding you can call people names?  And as long as everyone else thinks that the joke was probably funny you are the one that was wrong?  I am really tired of being told how wrong I am because I spoke up.  Or maybe I haven’t spoken up enough so when I do it really shocks the crap out of some people.  Yes I know, me not speak up?  Have you noticed that I am anonymous on here?  There is a reason for that.  And yes sometimes and in some settings I am outspoken, but in other settings I revert back to a shell.  And I have had many over the years.  Many of us probably have.  And since in my family I have pretty well always felt like a black sheep(if I was even worth that much) it is really hard for me to get past that I guess.  So now I spoke up about getting my feelings hurt and I am the one that is wrong.  Oh and these same people want family feuds over….but they are unwilling to admit that they are the ones that caused them in the first place.  At least, I did get an apology from the original person, but am now being attacked by everyone else.  But I guess that is to be expected.

Going to go evict a turtle

Wow there is still Olympics to talk about !

YES WE DID!!!!!!!

November 5, 2008

Oh my GOD!!!!  I don’t know if I even have words big enough for this election result.  Barack OBAMA is the 44th PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA.  I hoped and prayed and worked for this day.  But I also have to say that I was cynical after the stolen elections the last 2 times.  Yes I do believe that firmly.  No I am not afraid to say it.  Never really was actually.  Even if it meant my file got thicker.  *wave at agents*

Now I can say that I was part of taking our country in a new direction after it being in the dark for so long.  I hope my kids and grandkids get to know exactly how wonderful this truly was.  It can not ever happen again that we go back like we did in the reconstruction….stopping the reconstruction and instead reinvented history and just denied people their rights again.

But for now I am just going to be happy and let it all soak in and CELEBRATE!!!!

One shining moment in the sadness-Loss of Toot

November 4, 2008

From Slog a blog it has been reported that Toot’s absentee ballot was received and since it was cast while she was alive it will count.  This has come from the elections office in Hawaii.  Politico is lending some credibility to this story.   So I for one am hoping that this is true.  It should in fact be true, but I have become so very cynical about the whole election as it is that it is hard to believe in anything right now.

I am just trying to keep the faith that Toot is up there smiling down knowing the answer already

Can’t stop the tears

November 3, 2008

The day before the election Senator Barack Obama’s grandmother has died.  He did get to go and see her last month, but this is beyond sad.  I mean the day before the election….but maybe the stress was too much for her.  Especially given the personal attacks.  Also, too, since they have now brought out this aunt that is supposedly here and that they are trying to get people to believe he knew about….trust me that is unlikely.  I have had family here from time to time that does not get in contact with anyone because they do not want to be found out….and if she did not try and pull strings, which there would be serious records of then it is a moo point.

Anyway, how sad for Sen Obama to have to go through the last day of campaigning and fighting the fight of his life while mourning the woman who raised him

Off to try and wash the tears away

Margaret and Helen – Best Friends for Sixty Years and Counting… This blog has wonderful commentary from women who have lived long enough to have seen life and are not afraid to tell the rest of us what has been screwed up.  And so much for the excuse of “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”  I am guessing Helen might take you out behind the woodshed and learn ya thing or two if you dared say that.

Please go and check out this blog.  Helen pulls NO PUNCHES and it makes for some great reading, plus gives you great ammo to use then in your own fight for truth.

Because remember we are trying to SPREAD THE TRUTH

You can not tell me that McCain’s supporters have not gone too far

October 29, 2008

Today they surrounded two men who were holding Obama signs on public property across from today’s McCain rally in Miami.  I found this story on FiveThirtyEignt.com Only 538 bothered to go after the 2 Obama supporters after they were rescued by the police.  These 2 men who were only wearing Obama shirts, holding Obama signs and chanting O-ba-ma!, were threaten with losing their lives.  One had been threatened before the rally too.  They were called TERRORIST, SOCIALIST, COMMUNIST.  But McCain has in no way stirred up his supporters to violence against people…..in no way what so ever.  YEAH AND I GOT SOME BEACH FRONT PROPERTY HERE IN KANSAS CITY I WANNA SELL YA!!!!!!  Is McCain gonna come out against this MOB outside his rally?  I doubt it….specially since no is going to report it.
